Welcome to the Forbidden Lands. You will find the Lands very similar to, and yet quite different from, other RPG's. All players begin their travels in the Lands as raceless beings with no statistics. You must visit the Metamorph at the north end of town, across from the Fighters Guild and choose a race. Once this is done, make your way to the small house one north and one east of the main Gate. Enter and have the Master of Statistics set up your stats. Once you are satisfied with them, go to the Guild of your choice and apply for membership. There are minimum standards set for membership in a Guild, so please read the Help files carefully before choosing your stats. Finally, your alignment will remain Lawful unless you begin a life of crime (killing other players gets you an alignment change VERY quickly indeed.) or you become a Thief, which automatically turns you Neutral. Note: There are various objects, potions, etc. within the game that can have an effect on your stats, both good and bad, so caution is advised. Please use the Help files if you have questions about the game. And now…on to battle!

On the edge of the Desert of Forever, shining like a jewel in the burning sands, stands the City of Falchon. Mysterious and deadly to the unwary, many are the stories told of its hidden riches, lying forever buried in subterranean crypts and labyrinthine passages. Of the people who dwell in the City much is said but little is known. Aloof and solemn, yet ready to lend aid and wisdom to visiting adventurers, they are as mysterious as the City itself. It is said they possess powers and skills beyond the reach of mere mortals. Some believe the City to be merely a testing ground and that those who penetrate its depths and obtain glory and power from the caverns below will pass into the Land of the Gods and will possibly be added to the ranks of the Immortals. This then is the challenge you have undertaken. To go forth and do battle with the evil that waits underground. To wrest from its grasp treasures and objects of power that will increase your own skills and prowess. To survive and perhaps one day to achieve that greatest of all rewards…godhood itself. Onward…to battle!
